Life Update

It's been almost a year since I've posted.  :)  I am terrible at keeping up with my blog.

Our sweet boy will be 15-months-old next week.  It is so hard to believe he has grown so big.  I remember when he was so tiny...and now he's running around and ALL boy, for sure!

The last year has been a great one.  We have had the best time watching Baine grow into a sweet little toddler...and he is such a wonderful blessing to us.  We love how sweet and smart he is, but who doesn't love their kid?  I am terribly biased, I'm afraid.

Last October, I made the decision to go back to work part-time.  I am a chiropractic assistant/massage therapist a few days a week, and the rest of the time, I stay home with Baine.  I absolutely love my job, but I love the days where I get to stay home with my boy much more.  :)  I feel like it's what I'm meant to do!

My days home are filled with chasing the cutest little boy on the planet as he runs around the house and plays with everything he can find!  His favorite thing to do is play in my cabinets with my Tupperware and pots and pans...but aren't those the best toys?  :)  I know they were my favorite growing up.  Give the kid a box and he forgets about his other toys.  He also loves to be outside.  This kid is a farm boy to the core.  He loves to play in the dirt and rocks and push his toy 4-wheeler around the yard.

We are loving life and watching our sweet boy grow!! :)

September 17th, already??

Yes, friends, it's September 17th today. This is crazy, because it reminds me that our little man is almost 5 months old. 5 months?? When did all of this time go by? It feels like yesterday that I had him, and he'll be running around before I can catch up with him growing up...but isn't that how it goes? :) I am just happy to say that I love my sweet little boy more than words can describe, and I also love his daddy, who is the love of my life. I'm a pretty lucky gal, wouldn't you say?

Today, my friend Bre and I had a yard sale, and we did pretty well. It was nice to get together and hang out. We plan to go shopping with the money we made. :) It will be a nice girls' treat. Tonight, Isaac and I went to grab a quick supper out, and got ice cream. Little man was so tired that we didn't stay long at all, and came right home. My poor sweetie always gets very tired around 7:30-8pm...and if we're out much past that, he will cry the whole way home. I think it's because I've gotten him on a bedtime schedule, so he knows it's bedtime. So, we made it home, changed and fed the little dude, and sent him off to bed. ;) Haha...sent him...more like carried his passed out little baby body into his crib where he crashed. :) I love this kid. He is now grabbing everything, chewing on everything, rolling over (both ways!) and making all kinds of noises. He can turn himself in a circle on his tummy, grab noses and glasses (this is something we are trying to avoid! lol) and just being an all around big boy. LOVE IT!

Lately, I've been pondering what I want to do with my life, and all I keep thinking of, day and night, is that I am made to be Baine's mommy...and take care of him all the time. If I'm away from him for a few hours, I miss him...and people can tell me over and over that you get used to it, but I don't want to "get used to it." If I am able to stay home with him full time for longer, I plan to, because I want to dedicate that time to him if I can. I LOVE being a mom...it's the best feeling in the world, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. God put it on my heart when I was very young that I was going to be a mother...and love every minute of it...and make it my job. My first job is to take care of my son and husband, and that job is very important to me. :) I love my guys...and I love being a full-time mom right now. Best decision I've ever made. I realize some moms cannot do this...but this is something we planned to do, and we have sacrificed things to be here...but it's all about how much you want something, and if we have to pinch pennies for awhile to live this way, so be it. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Well, those were just my thoughts for today. Our little family is doing great. We are staying busy, and just loving this beautiful weather. Thank you, Jesus, for all of Your blessings. We love you. :)

Another day in the Orr household!

Today was pretty warm, which makes me wish even more that fall would hurry up and arrive. It's my favorite season. :) However, it's supposed to cool off the rest of the week, so that puts a smile on my face. As far as eventful goes, today was not really anything out of the ordinary. I spent time with the babe half of the day, gave a massage, and then came home to cook supper for Isaac and myself. I even baked some homemade lemon bread after supper. LOVE cooking and baking.

Isaac has been on day shift the past few weeks, which has spoiled me. I have been able to cook a big supper almost every night for the both of us, and I could definitely get used to this. I've also been able to plan the supper menu for the week, and grocery shop that way, which makes filling our cabinets much easier, and we save money that way. I love planning the menu and searching through cookbooks to find new recipes to make. What can I say? I like variety.

Well, just figured I would post a little about our day. Isaac and I have been doing things around the house this evening, and the babe has been in bed since 8:30ish. He was a sleepy boy, and fell asleep eating, which is freaking adorable. :) I love my sweet little family, and couldn't ask for anything more!!

Baine Bernell Orr

I realized I haven't posted since March, and so I haven't yet blogged out our arrival!! I gave birth on April 24, 2011 (Easter Sunday!) to a beautiful baby boy, Baine Bernell Orr, and he's the most precious gift a mother could ask for!! Isaac and I are so in love with him, and he's the best baby. He's now 4.5 months old, and the happiest little guy on the planet. Couldn't ask for a better boy!! I'll post some pictures soon. :)

Today is our 2nd anniversary! We have an amazing life and are so blessed to be living it with each other and our son. God is good!! Well, just thought I would update...and will try to keep up with this from now on. :)

Baby Update

Hello all! I haven't really given an update on baby yet, so I just wanted to post a little about prepping for this little one's arrival!

We have our 4D ultrasound scheduled for March 11th, and I will be almost 33 weeks then. At my last appointment, they estimated baby's size to be about normal (which is around 3lbs at 30 weeks), but we won't know the "exact" size this baby will be until arrival, so we'll just have to wait and see how big this kiddo will be. It's fun to guess...and keep guessing what it is, because we won't know that until it arrives, either. :)

Isaac and I plan to have a natural birth (God-willing) and we are so excited for the big day when we get to hold our sweetness in our arms. The baby's room is not finished yet, but we have plenty of time. Isaac has painted, and moved out the last of the leftover yardsale things, and now we can keep up progress! I can't wait to see it finished!

So far, I've been feeling great. I've had no problems throughout my pregnancy, and I thank God for my health. I've been able to do just about everything I did before pregnancy, and I've only just started to be a little uncomfortable when sleeping, which is still not unbearable, and will obviously happen as my belly grows. I will be 32 weeks this Sunday, so we have about 8 weeks left until due date. :)

Just wanted to give a little baby update! I'm sure there will be more as the next few weeks go by!

First update in years!

Wow, it's been ages since I've blogged. I had a friend tell me that they'd love to keep up on me by reading my blog, and I realized how long it had been.

Isaac and I got married in September of 2009, and I'm set for graduation from Southern IL University Carbondale this May. We are expecting a little baby Orr in May, also, which means I have just under 9 weeks left until this sweet little thing is due. We're very excited to become parents and feel so blessed that God has allowed us to share our lives with a beautiful child.

I guess that's all for now. Just wanted to post a little update. Hopefully I can stay faithful to updating often. :)

Just felt like writing another one. :)

So...I start my new massage job this Saturday, and I'm really excited. :) I know, it's just a a job...but it's what I went to school for, and I'm finally doing it! The salon where I'm working is awesome, so I guess it's a good thing that I got the opportunity to work there. I'm still working at Melange, but it'll do until I find something else down here.

This week is so busy...midterms and other homework due. I've never been fond of homework...but has anyone? It's a bit overwhelming right now...with everything else that's been going only lately, but school is school, and I have to finish, so homework is pretty inevitable, right? Right. I feel that there's often not enough time in a day to do things, but that will come with how busy I am.

Although things have been super crazy lately, I can't even begin to tell you how blessed I am. It's so surreal. I have awesome family and friends, and a boyfriend who just keeps getting more amazing to me. God is good, all the time. No matter what. Well...I've gotta get ready for work now, but I had a free moment, and blogging sounded like a good idea. :) It lets me get my thoughts out if I don't really have anyone to talk to down here. Later gator.
